Anne Eileen McDonald Cushion, age 73, of Lexington, S.C., passed away unexpectedly at Lexington Medical Center on March 14, 2023. She was born in Mount Vernon, New York on January 19, 1950, to the late John and Nance McDonald. She was raised in Colonia, N.J. and lived on the same street throughout her childhood and adulthood, until she relocated to Lexington, South Carolina in 2005. She worked as a claims and customer service supervisor at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Jersey until she retired in 2005. Anne loved cooking Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners, and especially loved big family gatherings. She also loved being a grandmother to her two grandchildren, Kate and Benjamin. Anne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Joseph Cushion of Lexington; her daughter, Christina LeVance (Bill) of Lexington; and her son, Brian Cushion (Fallon) of Gaston. In addition to her local, immediate family, Anne is also survived by her sister, Judith Babeu (Paul) of East Brunswick, New Jersey; brother, Kevin McDonald (Beverly) of Manahawkin, New Jersey; as well as many nieces and nephews who were very special to her. Anne was preceded in death by her twin brothers, Tom and John McDonald, both of New Jersey. The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Lexington County EMS, Lexington County Fire Department, Lexington County Sherriff’s Department for the rapid response and immediate care they all provided. The family would also like to extend its sincere appreciation to the entire ER, ICU, and Chaplain staff at Lexington Medical Center for the kind, compassionate care shown to Anne during the last two days of her life. The family will be planning a Celebration of Life service in New Jersey at a later date.
