October 26th, 1933 - April 18th, 2023
Anne Margaret Hoyle Hovis Mize 89 of Charlotte went home to be with our Lord in the early hours of Tuesday April 18th 2023 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in High Point NC, to the late David W. Hoyle Sr & Margaret Harrison Hoyle. Her siblings are David & Jane Hoyle, Walter & Dawn Hoyle and the late Douglas Hoyle. She was preceded in death by both of her loving husbands. Bobby Royce Hovis and Dr. Edwin S. Mize Jr. Anne, known to most as “Nana” our beloved Queen of Starmount spent her entire life loving, caring for & teaching not only the 4 generations of her immediate family but also sharing that very same level of love, care & compassion as the owner & operator of Anne’s Nursery for over 50 years. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church & infamous for her cooking as well as her family reunions that she would orchestrate all the way up to & including this past Easter! She leaves behind a legacy never able to be duplicated. Her immediate family are as follows: Carol Anne & Keith Featherstone; Bobby Royce Hovis, Jr. (Deceased) & Starr M. Hovis; Dianna Richardson & Ray Archer; Gary & Michelle Hovis; Marsha & Tim Stephens; George Hovis; Kurt Hovis & Victoria Burnette; Kevin & Di Hovis; Ed Mize, III; Patrick Mize & Shannon Haley-Mize; Tim Mize; Walt & Shelly Mize; and Leslie & Dawn Mize. Grandchildren: Michele McMurray; Nick Featherstone; Scott & Tracy Hovis, Bryce & Tessia Harman, Krystal & Jesse Webber, Beth & Tommy Fauber and Bobby Royce Hovis, III “Bubba” (Deceased); Debby Richardson, Tylina Richardson, Dusty & Silvana Richardson, Katrina Richardson-Mitchell & Larry Mitchell; Michael Hovis and Alli Hovis; Tashia & Randy Berry, Tim & Zana Stephens; Blake & Sibel Hovis, Trevor Hovis & Fiance’ Ashley Tuttle; Ash Burnette, Chaz Hovis, Jake Hovis; Will Mize, Chris Mize, Harry Mize; Sidney Rain Mize, Sophie Grace Mize; Sarah Grace Mize, Hannah Mize; Kathryn Mize, Nolan Mize, Margaret Mize; Justin Edwards. Great Grandchildren: Caroline and Masie; Scottie, Chayla, Mason, Anthony, Tyler, Emily, Bree, Zariah, Benny, Serenity, Jacen, Carmen, Aiden, Bailey, Emma, & Bradley; West, Kaitlynn, Landon, Charleston, Carrigan, Reed, Jonah, Hovis, & Avanelle; RJ, Austin, Paul, Abby & Faith; Skyler Rose; Chandler, Jalyn, & Kayrah; Abagail. Great-Great Grandchildren: Carra, Mason, Ciala, Payden & River; Scarlett, Caroline, Wyatt & Waylon.
