Obituary: Anne P. Motard
Anne P. Motard, born on July 4, 1959, in Scotland, passed away peacefully in Charlotte, NC on August 20, 2024. Known for her kind soul and infectious sense of humor, Anne left a lasting impression on everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Moving to Ontario, Canada as a young infant, Anne's journey through life was one marked by diverse experiences and unyielding love for her family and friends. Halfway through her life, she found a new home in Charlotte, NC, where she continued to build a life filled with joy and warmth.
Anne's love for gardening and cooking was well-known, often sharing her home-cooked dishes and bountiful garden harvests with her loved ones and neighbors. Her cats, Mia and Precious, were more than pets to her—they were family. An unwavering animal lover, Anne's backyard was often a sanctuary for all manner of wildlife, reflecting her gentle and compassionate nature.
In her family life, Anne was the beloved daughter of Gordon Berry and the late Evelyn Berry. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Cassandra Furr, and son-in-law, Taylor Furr. Anne's life was deeply touched by the memory of her son, Devon Motard, who passed away before her. Now, mother and son are reunited in rest. Anne will be laid to rest next to Devon at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Mint Hill, North Carolina.
Although there will be no formal service, friends and family are invited to pay their respects in their own meaningful ways. In remembering Anne, let us celebrate the life of a woman who was immensely kind, hilariously funny, and unconditionally loving.
She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Anne. Your legacy of kindness and joy lives on in our hearts.
