On the morning of May 12, 2023 Anne passed away peacefully of natural causes. Anne was in her apartment at Edgewood Spring Creek Assisted Living in Eagle, Idaho. Anne was 100 years old. Anne was born in Chicago, IL on March 7, 1923. She was the only daughter of Albert and Francis Franczak. She was sister to Joseph, John, and Steve. Anne grew up on West 17th Street in Chicago. Anne graduated from St Adalbert’s Commercial School in 1939, and later joined the United States Navy. Anne is a WWII Veteran and was discharged honorably in 1946. In 1950, Anne married Adam John Walas and celebrated 65 years of marriage in May 2015. Anne enjoyed golf, travel, sewing, and especially shopping. Even in her late 90’s she could spend hours at the mall looking for bargains. At the cash register she would always ask for a discount. When she flashed her angelic smile the cashiers would typically succumb and award a discount. Anne is preceded in death by her Father, Mother and three Brothers. She is survived by her Son John Walas, Daughter-in-law Christine Walas, Grandchildren Daniel and Nicholas Przysucha, and many Nieces and Nephews.
