Annegret Hierschbiel left this world on August 7, 2024. She died peacefully from natural causes at her long-term care home in Northeast Portland, Oregon, with family and her favorite hymns at her side. She was 92 years old. Annegret always found great joy in her family and great strength and love in her Christian faith. In the end, this was all that mattered.
Annegret is survived by her children, Eva Hierschbiel, Stuart Hierschbiel and his wife Molly, Helen Hierschbiel and her husband Stephen Owen, and Carl Hierschbiel and his wife Blanca; her grandchildren Elizabeth Hierschbiel, Sarah Stewart and her husband Levi, and Austin Kumm and his wife Samantha; and great-grandchildren Beau and Elliott Kumm, and Rudy and June Stewart. Annegret’s only sibling, her brother Karl Janssen, predeceased her, as did her parents, Wubbo and Jurke Janssen.
Annegret’s remains will be interred at the Little Chapel of the Chimes in Happy Valley, Oregon, near her former home in Happy Valley. Per her wishes, a small family ceremony will occur at her interment. Remembrances can be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association.
