Annette Lucille Nagel, 97, of Sarasota, Florida, passed away on October 30, 2023. She was born on April 22, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Ben and Bertha Newman. Annette was a kind and loving person who believed that family was the most important thing in life. Annette is survived by her children, Wendy Turry, David Nagel, Marty Nagel, and Jim Nagel; her grandchildren, Abby Confortti, Josh Levin, Lauren Nagel, Kelly Grant, Britany Root, Ashley Bunner, Mikki Zuniga, and Corey Nagel; and her great-grandchildren, Olivia Confortti, Lawson Confortti, Jenna Topaz, Brooke Topaz, Isla Grant, and Rory Bunner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred C. Nagel, her mother, Bertha Newman, her father, Ben Newman her brother, Melvin Newman and her grandchild Julie Nagel. Annette attended the University of Illinois receiving her undergraduate degree in Education. She was passionate about bridge, opera, travel, reading, and attending theater. Annette was an active member of Temple Emanu-El in Sarasota, Florida, and Northshore Congregation Israel in Glencoe, Illinois. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 7th, at 12:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to the MS Society or Temple Emanu-El Sarasota.
