Anthony "Tony" Robert Jones
June 1st, 1959 - June 26th, 2020
On Friday, June 26, 2020 Anthony (Tony) Robert Jones passed away at a local hospital in Boise, Idaho. Tony was born to Ann Jensen and Robert Jones on June 1, 1959 in Burley, Idaho. He grew up in Boise with parents, Ann and Byron Knapton and brothers, Jeff, Brad, and Ric Knapton. Growing up, Tony loved to spend time in Burley with his grandparents, Harlan and Bette Jensen. He was a well-mannered, smart and well-dressed little boy. His grandmother loved to spoil him with clothes! His grandpa took him to meetings, included him in get-togethers, and taught him so many things that he carried into adulthood. Growing up he played optimist football, baseball and enjoyed being in the Boys Scouts and working hard on his paper route. He went to West Junior High and Borah High School. After High School he joined the Navy where he was able to spend time in San Diego and the Philippine Islands. After Tony left the Navy, he met the love of his life, Trudy Elmore. They were married in February 1981. They had 2 children together, Trisha and Tyson. Tony loved celebrating his anniversary and Christmas with his family. Tony took great pride in any job that he had during his life. He started out working construction for his grandpa, and later did many different positions at Amalgamated Sugar in Paul, Idaho. Tony later worked at Micron and Koch Inc. before becoming a Ditch Rider for Boise Project Board of Control. Tony enjoyed playing and watching sports such as football, baseball, basketball and golf over the course of his life. He had also taken some college classes at College of Western Idaho in recent years to keep his brain active. He spent his free time surrounded by his family. He adored his three grandchildren, Mataya, Adelyn and Korbyn. He was looking forward to retirement when he could spend time with them camping, fishing, and riding four wheelers. Tony is survived by his wife Trudy of Boise, Idaho. Daughter: Trisha (Andrew) Thomas of Boise, Idaho. Son: Tyson Jones of Boise, Idaho. Three Grandchildren: Mataya, Adelyn, and Korbyn Thomas. Mother: Helen Ann Knapton of Boise, Idaho. Brothers: Jeff Knapton of Meridian, Idaho, Brad (Toni) Knapton of Boise, Idaho. Sister-in- Law: Beverly Morlan of Beaverton, Oregon. Newphews: Austin Morlan and Dylan Knapton. Nieces: Candice Lewis and Sarah Stensberg. Aunt: Chris (Jim) Graves of Burley, Idaho. Cousins: Cyndi Mitchell and Debbie Graves. He is preceded in death by Robert Jones, Bryon Knapton, Ric Knapton, Harlan and Bette Jensen, and Trudy’s parents Marvin and Dorothy Elmore.
