Anthony McManus

A. E. J. (Tony) McManus A.E.J. (Tony) McManus passed away on February 11, 2020 in Charleston, South Carolina. He was surrounded by his family and closest friends. Tony McManus was formerly of South Bend, Indiana and St. Joseph, Michigan. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Lee Whitman McManus, daughter Stephanie (Eric) Stone and grandson Whitman Stone all of Charleston, South Carolina. He will remain forever in the hearts of his daughters, Reagan McManus, Mary Clare (Steven) Fields and Elizabeth Ernsperger and grandchildren Joseph, Cara, Alison, Kate and Kyle all of Granger, Indiana. He will be greatly missed by his brother Terry (Irene) McManus of London, Ontario and by his cousins Mary Dupel, Pat McManus and his wife Sharon. Special friends to include, Dr. Michael Slowey, Dan Jones and Garey Kayser. Tony worked at Kuert Concrete Inc. for 30 years rising to become President of that company. He was active in many organizations in the South Bend business community and in Charleston, South Carolina. Tony was an avid Notre Dame and Gamecock fan. Tony was particularly proud of his service in the United States Marine Corp and the phrase, Semper Fi, exemplified how he tried to live his life. There will be an announcement regarding a celebration of Tony’s life to be held in South Bend, Indiana. A private family burial service will take place in Charleston, S.C.
