Turturiello, Anthony (Tony), 94, of St. Petersburg, FL, died peacefully August 10, 2014, at Bay Pines VA Hospital. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends. Tony was born September 24, 1919 in Belleville, NJ. He was a WWII veteran and served in the 6th Armored Division as a Staff Sergeant in the Battle of the Bulge. He had a love of music and was a renowned trumpet player in the New York metropolitan area during the swing band era. That is where he met and fell in love with Lorrayne, his late wife. He retired after working 32 years for the Postal Service as Section Center Director in Newark. In 1977 they retired to St Pete. Tony enjoyed all sports, especially golfing, fishing and volunteering his services. He was a life member and Past Commander of American Legion Post 70. And life member and Past Grand Exalted Ruler of Elks Lodge 1224 and a Freemason. Survivors include: sister Rose Teutsch of Verona, NJ, son Bob Turel and wife, Vicki of St. Pete Beach FL, daughters, Barbara DeRose and spouse, Robert (Deceased) of San Antonio TX, and Beverly Hebert & husband Michael of Portland, ME. Grandchildren: Danielle Hebert, Lindsay Hopkins, Matthew DeRose, Michael Hebert, Jr. Great Grandson, Brayden Hopkins He will be deeply missed by his family, extended family, and Muffin, his beloved canine companion. Military & Elks services to be held Tuesday August 26, 2014 at 10AM at Bay Pines Nat. Cem. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Bay Pines VA Hospice, P.O. Box 5005, 33744.
