Antonio "El Oso" Lopez
August 10th, 1959 - May 20th, 2012
Antonio “El Oso” Rosales Lopez, born August 10, 1959, in Ciudad Cuahutemoc, Zacatecas, Mexico to Alfredo Lopez and Maria del Refugio Rosales de Velasquez. Tony way raised by his beloved “Lecha” Teresa Garcia, his dearest Aunt Santos Rosales de Delgado, and his padrino Pedro Delgado. He joined his mother in Los Angeles, California, at the age of 14. From L.A. he moved to and settled in Caldwell, Idaho. Here he met and married Sulema Basaldua. Though their marriage ended, their friendship and commitment toward each other would not. From their union came 3 children, Marco [Veronica] Lopez, Iris Lopez, and Carina Lopez. Tony was also blessed with 7 grandchildren: Amia, Denni, R.J., Nia “Turtle,” Andre, Dominiq “Nino”, and Mila. Antonio was preceded in death by his father Alfredo, grandmother Teresa, aunts Santos and Hilaria, and Uncle Jesus. He is survived by his mother Maria, padrino Pedro, brothers Angel and Felix, and sister Janie, his children, grandchildren, best friend Sulema, and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. Tony you are forever loved, and you’re wonderful sense of humor and incomparable compassion for everyone will be sorely missed. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 7:00 PM at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 25, 2012, Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Caldwell.
