Apolonia B. Martinez June 24, 1923 - Feb. 3, 2017 Apolonia (Pola) B. Martinez, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico entered eternal rest Friday, February 3, 2017, at age 93 surrounded by her loved ones. She was preceded in death by husband Donato R. Martinez, daughter Pauline Martinez, sons Jose Alfonso and Don R. Martinez, and grandson Paul Martinez. Her parents, Luis and Pablita Bustos, sisters Nila and Frances Bustos. Brothers Phil and Enrique Bustos and daughter in-law Carol Capps and niece Alyandra Bustos. Pola is survived by her sister Elis Torres, her children, Rose Salazar (Dan), Genevieve Josie Gomez (Joaquin), Lita Martinez (Mel), Henry, and Patsy Martinez. Pola had fifteen grandchildren Penny (Roy), Chavela, Reina (Mario), Danny, Sharon (Joey), Brandi (Swl), Neal (Suzie), Cagney, Maria Elena (Jeff), Andy, Donato (Shianti), Chris (Carmen), Consuelo (Julian), Carmen (Jacob), and Theresa. Twenty-Nine great grandchildren, Amanda and Christian Bustamante, Kaylyn and Krystian Gomez, Monique, Alex and Johnathan Martinez, Javen and Tyler Martinez, Paul and Christine Martinez, Lluvia, Mariah, and Joaquin Huerta, Isabella, Armandito Marquez, Sonny and Ory Hewitt, Kaheahia Martinez, Amaya, Alma Del La Garza, Sean Dominique, Diego Terrones, Alonso Saunders, Esteban and Santino Martinez, Devon (David) and Jay, Alex Jr., Lily and Emery. Two great, great grandchildren, Unique Angel and Arriela. She was survived by numerous nieces and nephews from Albuquerque and Portales, New Mexico and Pueblo, Colorado. Brenda (Paul), Hank (Geraldine), Frances (Fred), Sonny and Davey, Maryann, Judy, and Danny (Margaret). Vivian (Alfonso), Ramon (Lydia) and Annalee Torres. Goddaughter Elaina (Jesse) children Phoebe and Jessie. As well as many other family members, and friends that will miss her dearly. Our mother was a strong, gentle, and caring woman who was loved by all who knew her. She was our rock, life, and a mentor to all. Mom had so much love and she gave it unconditionally. She loved nature, traveling, cooking, playing cards, to knit, embroider, and crochet. She was a member of the Sacred Society in Villanueva, NM. She worked for the school system and the Senior Citizens Center as a cook. Mom Lived life to the fullest and she will greatly by missed and forever loved. The Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM, with the Funeral following at 11:00 AM in Villanueva, New Mexico on Saturday, February 11, 2017.
