April Jane Rosen “Janie” age 71 passed away around 4:00 a.m. on the morning of Wednesday October 29th. The one-of-a-kind party hostess at the “Perry Street Party Palace” went peacefully and gracefully after staring down AML for a year (to the day). Janie was an entrepreneur and innovator in her field as a massage therapist dedicating her time, wit, and strong capable hands to the benefit of others bringing relief to AIDS patients, and anyone else with aching muscles. She enjoyed 22 years of marriage to Calvin Hulsey and provided a loving moral compass (and pulled no punches) raising for her four kids Shana, Doug, Sheila and Greg. She was a fantastic grandmother “Gram” and great-grandmother, and enjoyed nothing more than watching those kids participate in life’s adventures and guiding them toward the correct paths in life. She was respected by all, adored by many, and feared by some who crossed her. A lovely, honest, forthright, generous lady, who enjoyed life to her very last day. She led a life filled with laughter, good friends and good times. We are all far richer for having her in our lives and will profoundly miss our Mom, Gram, Sister, Aunt, Friend, & Wife. All who shared time with her will remember her legacy and valuable lessons. We will miss picking her up as she waited for us “on the porch with her purse” ready for the day’s events, and as she always said before a new adventure, “Here we go to Mexico!”
