Ardys Jean Zimmerman

Ardys Zimmerman of Aurora, CO passed away Monday, May 31, 2021 while in hospice care at Littleton Adventist Hospital at the age of 82. Ardys is survived by her children, Tony (Anthony), Steve (Steven) and Cheryl. She has 6 grandchildren, Brett, Marcus, Austin, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Madison and 1 great grandson, Emmett. She is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two Sisters, Delores Cacek and Marilyn Johnson as well as her Nephew Daniel Johnson. Ardys was born in Aurrelia, Iowa on December 8, 1938 to her parents, Chester and Viola Dyslin. She was raised in Storm Lake Iowa. She was Married to Raymond Zimmerman on March 5, 1965 in Storm Lake, Iowa. They later moved to Wausau, WI. She was Widowed in January, 1973. In 1985, she and her Daughter moved to Mesa, AZ. She returned back to Wausau, WI in 1990 and made her final move to Aurora, CO in 1996. She began working early in life detassling corn. She remained a hard working Mother as a Manager at McDonalds for a number of years before she began Data Entry for various entities including Blue Cross Blue Shield where she retired in 2008. Once retired, she took on the task of caring for her youngest granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Madison and took much pride getting them to and from school as well as caring for them over holiday breaks and summer vacation building a beautiful bond. Family was important to Ardys and she took a lot of pride in all of her grandchildren including those living in different States. She was excited when she became a Great Grandmother of Emmett, born in October, 2020. A private family Memorial will be held later this summer in Estes Park, CO (her favorite place). She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
