Arlene L. Johnson, 81, of Caldwell, Idaho died peacefully at her home on May 13, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Arlene was born in Twin Falls, Idaho on February 1, 1936 to Clifford and Evalyn Payton. She was one of three children and is preceded in death by her brother, Sonny Payton. Her sister Phyllis (Richard) Moody resides in Las Vegas, Nevada. She met the love of her life James A. Johnson and became his bride in 1957. They have resided in Caldwell for 60 years, where they raised four children. She is survived by her husband James, her two sons: James Johnson of Nampa, David (Kit) Johnson of Caldwell, her two daughters: Brenda Cline of Caldwell and Lisa Comfort of Nampa and her eight grandchildren: Todd, Courtney, Rachel, Raven, Trace, Mayci, Jake and McKenzie and one great- grandson, Emmett. Arlene loved time with her family, she was a wonderful homemaker, fantastic cook, and will be remembered for her pies, especially coconut cream! Her favorite pastimes were camping in the Cascade Mountains where she enjoyed the birds, wildflowers, s’mores, campfires and Dutch oven cooking. She and her lifelong friend Charlotte Girven made many memories traveling to research genealogy, taking pictures and quilting. Arlene blessed the lives of all who knew her and she will be missed as she joins our Lord in Heaven. There will be a viewing for Family and Friends at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell from 5 to 8 PM on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Graveside services will be held on May 18, 2017 at Canyon Hill Cemetery at 1:00 PM in Caldwell.
