Armando "AJ" James Diaz

Armando James (AJ) Diaz, 59, of Denver, Colorado took his last breath on April 15, 2024. surrounded by his family at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center. He was born May 15, 1964, in Los Angelas, California to Manuel & Mary (Solis) Diaz.Armando served in the first calvary division of the US Army and finished his military career in the National Guard. Armando went on to work for United Airlines for over two decades and was everything from an airline mechanic to a flight instructor. He had an amazing passion for aviation and spent his career doing what he loved.He is survived by his wife, Kelly Runyan-Diaz of Denver, Colorado; his children Kristen Kent of Olney Springs, Colorado, Sara (Michael) Diaz-Adair of Harpersville, Alabama, and Armando (Kristen) Diaz of Denver, Colorado. Armando was blessed with seven grandchildren: Zachary Kent, Layten Kent, Taylor Kent, Jaden Adair, Payten Adair, Korben Adair, and Anderson James Heister.A military service will be held on Thursday, August 28, 2024, at 3:30 pm at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver Colorado.We would like to thank the amazing doctors and staff in the ICU at the VA Medical Center for the around the clock tremendous and heartfelt care. Also, to the Fisher House for their hospitality during our stay at the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center.Armando was a son, brother, uncle, husband, father, grandfather, and a friend. His laughter and smile will be truly missed.
