Armando Iorio
May 19th, 1942 - January 21st, 2020
Mr. Armando Iorio, 77, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday January 21, 2020 at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Casal di Principe, Caserta, Italy on May 19, 1942 a son of the late Crescenzo and Esterina D’Ambrosio Iorio. Armando attended school in Italy. He came to Amsterdam, NY, in 1966. He was employed as a Machine Operator for Adirondack Industries in Amsterdam for many years until retiring in1997.He enjoyed carpentry, playing cards, going to the casino and spending time with family. Armando was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam. He married Teresa Capasso on August 21, 1966. In addition to his beloved wife he is survived by his brothers, Raffaele "Ralph" Iorio of Gloversville, NY and Dante Iorio of Italy. Three dear sisters, Anna D'Aniello of Amsterdam, Gulia Iorio and Rita Capasso both of Italy. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Armando was predeceased by brothers, Luigi and Pietro Iorio and a sister, Nicolena "Lena" Palumbo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday January 27, 2020 at 11:15 AM at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam, NY with Father Pascal “Pat” Iannotti as celebrant. Private entombment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Schenectady, NY. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 39 St. John St., Amsterdam, NY 12010. Please leave condolences online at www.brbsfuneral.com.
