Arnold Jeremiah “AJ” Salinas, 13, of Caldwell passed away on May 13, 2018. He was born in Caldwell, ID and is the third of six children born to Stephanie and Vicente Salinas. AJ was a 7th grade student within the Caldwell School District. His future plans were to join The United States Air Force and ultimately become a pilot. AJ has touched the lives of so many people around him with his captivating smile and charismatic personality. He was his mom’s sweetheart, his dad’s baby boy, his sister’s protector, his brother’s best friend, and his grandma’s sidekick. AJ enjoyed listening to music and singing but he was most happy when spending time with his family and sharing laughs with his best friends. We’ve enjoyed hearing the countless stories about what a good friend AJ was to others. His friends have described him as a “true friend to everyone” and said he “knew exactly how to cheer you up if you were sad” and that there was “never a dull moment when he was around.” This doesn’t surprise us because this is exactly the kind and fun-loving young man we knew him to be. AJ is survived by his parents; Vicente and Stephanie (Pastrano) Salinas; his brothers, Vicente Jr., Nicholas, Lucas, and Timothy; a sister, Amelia Salinas; paternal grandmother, Angie Kiser of Caldwell, ID; maternal grandmother, Linda “Lulu” Pastrano of San Antonio, TX, maternal grandfather, Enrique Martinez of San Antonio, TX; uncles, Erick Pastrano and John Paul Jones both of San Antonio, TX; aunts; Vanessa P. (John) Bigley and Amanda Maria Jimenez both of San Antonio, TX, and many many cousins, great-aunts, great-uncles, and friends. AJ is preceded in death by his uncle Arnold Salinas and grandmother Amelia G. Salinas. We will miss everything about you…we will miss every little thing and every big thing! We love you, AJ! A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell. A memorial service honoring AJ will be held Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at the Caldwell High School Auditorium at 6:00 pm followed by celebration of life dinner from 7:30 pm – 9:30 pm at King Legend Hall 424 E. Elgin in Caldwell.
