Elizabeth Shiver

I was Mr. B's secretary at Waverly Growers Cooperative for many years before leaving in 1976 to help my husband start our business. He was a very thoughtful boss, always very courteous, and it was a pleasure to work for him. Some years later, we began corresponding by email and just about every day we shared some jokes and political articles, as well as inspirational ones as we both loved the Lord and our churches. My last email from him was dated September 1, 2014 and was entitled "Conservatives vs Liberals Divorce Agreement." Needless to say, we shared the same political thinking! After that, I continued to write to him but did not receive any replies, which made me sad because I feared he had fallen ill. He told me many times he intended to reach l00 years of age, so I continued to send birthday greetings via FaceBook! I have also tried Internet searches, which is what I did tonight, and found that I missed his service by five days. Please accept my deepest sympathy. Although we had not seen each other for probably a dozen or so years, I feel a huge sense of loss as well. He was a great guy! Elizabeth A. (Liz) Shiver Winter Haven, Florida

Mary Jane Mimbs

I spent fourteen years at Waverly Growers Coop. and Mr. Brandon was my boss part of that time. It was a real pleasure working for such a gentleman---always fair with everyone. My condolence to his family and loved ones.
