April 27th, 1916 - March 3rd, 2009
Cushing, Arthur H. Art 92, of Largo, formerly of Pinellas Park, Passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2009. Born in Duryea, PA, and retired to Pinellas Park in 1958, after 22 years of service in the United States Coast Guard. He was a veteran of both World War II and Korea. He went on to work another 20 years as service manager with St. Petersburg Heating and Air Conditioning. He finally retired for good, and with his wife, Ruby, traveled in their beloved motor home, eventually settling into being campground hosts at Stony Fork Campground in Wytheville, Va for many years. Along with being active in the Good Sam Club, he was also very active with the local Elks Lodges, serving as Exalted Ruler in both St. Petersburg and Pinellas Park Lodges, and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler of the West Central District. He was also a member of the Sun Coast Chapter Chief Warrant Officers Association. Art was preceded in death by the love his life and wife of 70 years, Ruby. He is survived by a son, Robert Barbara Cushing, Mobile, AL, daughters Sue Albert Clarke, Pinellas Park and Bonnie Ed Ketcham, Dunedin a sister Betty Pfautz, Lancaster, PA, granddaughters Elizabeth Myles McNichol, Mobile, AL, Kelly Glenn Cote, Lebanon, CT, Jennifer Clarke, Philadelphia, PA, Kristen Ketcham and Natalie Bushman, Tampa, 2 great grandsons and 2 great great granddaughters. A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 9 at 6:00PM at the First United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park, 9025-49th Street North. Interment to follow at a later date at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
