Arthur Goodwin

Arthur E. Goodwin passed away at the age of 90 on November 5, 2013 at his home in Springfield, Oregon. He was born in 1923 in Dairyville, California, to parents Cora and Joel Goodwin. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Goodwin, and daughters Karen & Barry Hart, Lisa & Mike Worley and Diane & Mike Hoss, 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. There are two surviving brothers, Clarence and Jerome. He was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer and Homer, and sister Evelyn.Art was a WWII veteran, serving in the US Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot, flying P-38’s over the South Pacific. He worked as a butcher for Minch’s Meats for 35 years and as a meat cutter in Springfield, Oregon until retirement. Art loved to fish, hunt and garden and spend special times at Biscuit Flat, west of Red Bluff. He was also a lifetime member of the BPOE Lodge #1250 in Red Bluff and the VFW in Springfield.Graveside services will be held Friday, November 15 at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery with reception to follow at the Elks Lodge in Red Bluff, CA.Arrangements entrusted to Springfield Memorial Funeral Home.
