Arthur Thomas Lopez went to be with the Lord on April 5, 2014. Arthur was born to Reynaldo and Carmen Lopez on May 22, 1930 in Santa Barbara. As a native Santa Barbaran, he graduated from Lincoln Elementary, Santa Barbara Jr. High, and Santa Barbara High School. At SBHS he participated in 6 man football and track. His record for the 120 low hurdles remains unbroken today. He joined the United States Navy in 1948 and was honorably discharged in 1949, and spent the next 7 years as a reservist. He married Norma M. Mora on February 11, 1956. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years and for 45 years as a Real Estate Investor. During this time he spent 25 years at his hobby of owning Art's Bar and Cross Roads cocktail bar. He is survived by his sisters, Augustina Trujillo and Georgia Lucero, his brothers, Charles and Emiliano Lopez, his daughters Loretta Lopez, Lisa Marie Cunningham (Lopez), Carmelita Lopez, his sons, Arthur Lopez, Jr., Reynaldo Lopez, eleven grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. A rosary service will be held on Thursday April 10, 2014 at 7:00 PM at McDermott-Crockett Mortuary Chapel 2020 Chapala St. Santa Barbara, Ca. The funeral mass will be held on Friday April 11, 2014 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Sorrow Church, 21 East Sola St. Santa Barbara, CA. Interment will follow the mass at Calvary Cemetery 199 N. Hope Ave. Santa Barbara, CA.
