Arthur Clayton Williams

Arthur Clayton Williams, 82, a 46-year resident of New Mexico, loving dad, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle Pop. Art died on August 20, 2018, of pulmonary embolism. Arthur is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Barbara Justine Bragg. Arthur is survived by his son Clay Williams and partner Ken Conner, of Van Alstyne TX, daughter Denise Williams Monaghan and son-in-law Jerry of Durango CO, Gerri Chadwell and son-in-law Larry, of Edgewood NM, granddaughter Gerlyn Chadwell, grandson Barrett Chadwell and granddaughter-in-law Jessica of Alamogordo NM, great granddaughters Jaelyn and Rochelle Smith of Edgewood, NM and beloved 'service dog' Camilla Williams of Edgewood NM. A full honors military service will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on September 21, 2018 at 3:00 pm.  Art lead a full life and he held multiple degrees, but being a Registered Nurse was his calling. We not only lost the patriarch of our family but the health care community lost a valuable resource. Arthur retired from USPHS and went on to enjoy a fulfilling working retirement in the private sector. Art seemed to always have the answer to the question, we will never know where he stored all that wisdom. Arthur enjoyed meandering through all kinds of stores and shops with Camilla at his side. Any store with books were his favorite.  What PaPa enjoyed most was spending time with his family. Something dad said he learned later in life, was to listen, not just hear, to see, not just look and to follow the plan. We will be forever grateful to have enjoy the 'scenic beauty' with Dad. The family would like to thank all the family members, friends and coworkers, for their love, support and prayers. Whether through text, phone calls, emails or snail mail, Art felt your love and prayers. Thank you from the Williams family.
