Audrey Lenore Malasky
August 31st, 1928 - August 16th, 2016
Audrey Lenore Malasky passed away peacefully on August 16, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Audrey born on August 31, 1928 is survived by her children, Robert Merker (Lori Spector) of Alexandria, VA, Steven Merker (Rhonda Avery-Merker) of Del Mar, CA, Gail Smith (David) of Las Vegas, and Debi Phelan (Mike) of Cloverdale, VA, and her grandchildren, Crystal Grant, Jeremy Turner-Avery, Anthony Turner-Avery, Cara Merker, Eliot Merker, Craig Merker, Jonathan Merker, Shana Merker, Lewis Dillark and Christine Dillard and her great grandchild, Connor Parker. Her husband, David S. Malasky and her parents, Beverly and Irving Becker, precede Audrey in death. Audrey grew up in and around Chicago until moving out west with her husband David to run a ski resort in Missoula, Montana. Thereafter, Audrey and David moved to San Diego where she and David managed various apartment complexes until their retirement. Audrey was a humble, kind and loving woman who transformed from a stay at home mom to a business woman. She overcame polio as a young woman in the 1950’s and a stroke in her later years. She loved her family and her friends and especially loved to play mah jongg. A memorial service will be held Atria Seville, 2000 N Rampart Blvd. Las Vegas, Nevada 89131 on Friday September 2, 2016 at 10:30 am with Rabbi Sanford Akselrad of Congregation Ner Tamid. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the charity or your choice in Audrey’s memory is appreciated. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Atria Seville and Seasons Hospice for the special care they provided to Audrey.
