Audry Winslow
November 9th, 1925 - January 18th, 2015
Audry Darlene Winslow passed away on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at the North Shore Health Center in Loveland, Colorado. She was 89 years old. Born on November 9, 1925 in St. John, Kansas, Audry spent most of her childhood there before moving to Denver, just prior to the start of World War II. In Denver she joined the war effort, working at a munitions factory. She later met and married Howard W. Winslow in 1948. In looking for her life's calling, Audry lead a very colorful career path: Nabisco Bakery, Mountain Bell operator, jewelry assistant, May D & F retail sales, and the Rio Grande Credit Union. All of which helped her to prepare when she began her own custom drapery business, in the late 1960s. Her fondness and skill at being a seamstress was well known. She made clothing, enjoyed both knitting and crocheting, and in her retirement years took up painting. Audry also enjoyed many outdoor pursuits, fishing most of all. She loved camping, going antiquing and working in her gardens. In the early autumn you could find her in the kitchen, canning and preserving all of the bounty from the past summer. In her down time she was a voracious reader. Audry is survived by her son Larry Winslow, daughter Carol Stulz, granddaughter Lisa Meisner and two great grandchildren, Jeremy and Freddy Velasco. She is also survived by sisters and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Patrick Velasco. A Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Monday, January 26, 2015, followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 am, Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home Chapel, 503 Terry St., Longmont, CO. Burial will follow at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont, CO. Please join the family back at the Funeral Home for a gathering of stories, memories and refreshments following the burial.
