Aurora Santana Higgins

HIGGINS, Aurora S., 79, of Wesley Chapel, Florida passed away on November 16, 2018. She was born in Bantigue, Isabel, Leyte, Philippines and moved to Tampa Bay, Florida from Mount Shasta, California in 1978. She graduated from the University of Visaya with a degree in accounting and worked as a clerical worker at Equifax. Aurora was a member of many groups such as St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Couples for Christ, and Hand Maids for the Lord. She traveled to many places in her lifetime, including the Philippines, Israel, Central America, Europe, Canada, and throughout the United States. She enjoyed many nights of karaoke and Bingo with siblings, family, and close friends. Aurora also enjoyed supporting her grandson, LJ, by attending numerous baseball, football, and basketball games. She had a passion for helping others. Her family and close friends were her priority. She always had people surrounding her and expressed her love through her service, caring of others, and through various other ways. Aurora is preceded in death by her loving husband, James E. Higgins. She is survived by her daughter, Blossom Higgins-Ortiz; brother, Virgilio Santana (Pricilla); sisters, Angelita Duterte, Rebecca Hiatt (William), Virginia Larrobis (Ceasar); grandson, Louis (LJ) Ortiz; and many loving nieces and nephews. A Wake Service will take place at 7:00pm on Monday, November 19, 2018 at Loyless Funeral Homes. The family will receive friends one hour prior. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 20, 2018th at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Committal service will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens.
