Austin Maudsley
June 28th, 1994 - March 11th, 2011
Austin Wayne Maudsley, age 16, of Marana, AZ was taken suddenly from us on March 11, 2011. He was the loving son of Michelle Roach, John Maudsley, Jr. and Holly Maudsley; loving and devoted brother of Jared Fields, Dallas Maudsley, and Asher Maudsley; beloved grandson of Patti Leland, John Maudsley, Sr., Glenda Roach, M.R. and Barbara Hansen; caring great-grandson of Mae Maudsley; loving nephew of Lynn and Jim Hughes, Missy Hutto, Carla and Rob Miller, Blaise Hansen, Clay Hansen, Tiffany and John Engelbrecht; cousin to Brittney and Joshua Judy, Amber Hutto, Stacey Hughes, Carol Hughes, Kayla Miller, Kelsey Miller, Corey Miller, Josh Engelbrecht, Adam Engelbrecht, Nathan Hansen, Willow Hansen; and a loving friend to all who knew him. Austin was originally from La Verne, CA, and also spent his short life in Marana, AZ, Winnetka, CA and Woodbury, MN, before returning to Marana, AZ. Austin was a loving young man, always with a smile, easy hugs and a quick wit. He looked up to his big brother Jared, was closely tied to his sister Dallas, and was incredibly caring and attentive to his little brother. He was very gregarious, made friends easily, and was a joy to be around. Kids and adults took to him easily, and he was resourceful and handy no matter the occasion. Austin was an avid sportsman, enjoying basketball, rollerblading, riding his bike, and doing tricks on his scooter and skateboard. He enjoyed listening to music and liked to show off his dance moves. Austin was most comfortable in the out-of-doors, enjoying all nature had to offer. He was a fantastic camper and hiker, and was always helpful in family camping trips. He was generous with his time and his love and found it easy to tell those he touched that he, indeed, loved them. Surrounded by friends, he was always happy and shone a bright and loving smile making you feel like you were his best friend. While all of us will miss Austin the rest of our days, we will remember him for his joy, his smile and his enduring love of life.
