Ava Nell Bobo
January 2nd, 1925 - March 7th, 2013
HAINES CITY - Ava Nell Bobo, 88 was taken to Heaven to be with our Lord on March 7, 2013 at 9:35 PM due to respiratory failure. She peacefully died in her home in Haines City, Florida, surrounded by her loving family. Ava Nell was born in Hamilton, Alabama on January 2, 1925 to Daniel and Cora (Wiginton) Cox. She was a homemaker and co-founder and former owner of Bobo's Tire Service. She was a loving and kind-hearted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Westside Baptist Church. Ava Nell enjoyed gardening and working out in her yard. She loved going to church and Sunday School. She loved visiting and spending time with family and friends. Ava Nell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Harold Bobo. She is survived by her children Carolyn (Allen) Hill, Brenda (Brian) Stokes, Wayne Bobo (Mary, loving caretaker for last 2 years), Kenneth (Pam ) Bobo, and David (Michele) Bobo. She is survived by her grandchildren Deborah (DeWayne) Wimberly, Greg Bobo, Cathy (Brian) Moss, Kimberly (Justin) Best, Chastity Bobo, and Charity Bobo. She is survived by her great-grandchildren Brent Wimberly, Alex Guy, Austin Guy, Brandon Moss, Tyler Best, Kayley Best, Steven Skalicky, Alyssa Pond, And Bradley Bobo. She is also survived by one great-great-grandchild. A very special thank you from our family to Dr. Michael Degnan and his loving staff for the excellent medical care, support and help with mother over the years. Also, thank you to Dr. Larry Padgett who gave mother a quality of life the last few years with his expertise and compassionate care. Thank you for the support given by Good Shepherd Hospice during the last week of her illness. Your kindness and support during this difficult time was greatly appreciated. Donations in her name may be sent to Good Shepherd Hospice, 105 Arneson Avenue, Auburndale, FL 33823 or Westside Baptist Church, 1416 Polk City Road, Haines City, FL 33844. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 12th from 1-2 PM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care Haines City with Services immediately following. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Haines City.
