Avis Taylor
December 5th, 1933 - March 9th, 2019
Avis Elaine Taylor passed from this life into her Lord and Savior’s loving arms on Saturday morning March 9th, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society in Loveland. Her life was a light that touched so many, and she will be deeply missed. She was born Avis Elaine Vallat on December 5th 1933 in Longmont Colorado to Francis Nicholas and Hazel Helena Vallat. She was greatly loved by her parents and older sister Joan Yvonne. As a teenager, Avis was active in her school, church and community, a member of Rainbow for Girls International and she absolutely loved movies and theatre. Avis graduated from Longmont High School in 1951 and went on to attend what was then Colorado A & M College-now CSU. Avis then worked in a Fort Collins insurance office and married Floyd Lee "Skip” Taylor in 1955. They made their home for time in Denver and settled in Fort Collins where Avis was a homemaker. They had two children, Jeff and Jill. Avis was an amazing mother-constantly devoted to her children’s happiness and well-being. Avis enjoyed Bible study, reading and gardening. She took great joy doting on her granddaughters and loved to think of ways she could bless them! Words that describe Avis are kind, sweet and generous. She was always one to reach out to those in need to extend Christ’s love. She was often very gracious to friends going through difficult times-putting together grocery bags of food now and then or enclosing money in cheery cards to encourage them. She did the same for her children and grandchildren, ensuring they had what they needed and that they felt loved and supported in their faith and endeavors. When Jeff and Jill had friends in need, Avis so often found ways to reach out to them. She was a great listener, confidant and encourager. She was a "prayer warrior” and could be counted on to pray for the needs of her family and of those around her. Avis supported several ministries caring for those in need locally and around the world. She had a special place in her heart for ministries supporting Israel. Avis is survived by son Jeff Taylor and wife Melissa, 2 granddaughters Annika and Jemma of Centennial, CO and daughter Jill Schuett and husband Russ of Loveland as well as her sister Joan Krage of Aurora, CO and niece Sally Van Der Kamp and husband Bruce also of Aurora, CO A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday March 26th, 2019 at 11:30am, at Good Samaritan Society-Loveland Village Spiritual Life Chapel, 2101 South Garfield Ave., Loveland, CO 80537.
