Barbara Ann Benavidez-Chavez
September 27th, 1940 - December 13th, 2020
Barbara A. Benavides-Chavez died peacefully in her sleep,at her home in Salinas on Sunday, December 13,2020. She was 80. Barbara was born in Monterey, California to Clinton and Dorothy Morrow, she was the only girl with seven brothers. She lived in Seaside for 79 years and moved to Salinas and lived until she passed away. She worked for the Hyatt Highlands Inn for over 20 years until She retried. Barbara loved to cook for her family and friends, she loved to sing, dance and go to the beach were she enjoyed the beautiful view of the Monterey Bay. Barbara is survived by her Husband, Refugio S. Chavez, along with her children, Tommy Benavides ( Shelia ) and Beverly Vega (Miguel). She has 5 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Father Clinton Morrow, her Mother Dorothy Morrow and her daughter Judy (Ju Ju ) Benavides along with all her siblings. Due to the Covid-19 ,no services are being held at this time.

Healey hoped to find a way to continue to meaningfully help his county and community grow. He and his wife founded Salinas Valley Mortuary in 1956 to help serve the families in the Salinas Valley area. Their lifelong mission was to unselfishly serve area families based on their strong, trusting relationship with their community – something we honor to this day almost seven decades years later....
