Barbara J. Benton

Mrs. Barbara J. Benton, 73, of East Jefferson Street, Little Falls, NY died peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, NY following a long illness. Born in Canajoharie, NY on March 2, 1938 she was the daughter of the late LeRoy Sr. and Emma Benton. A lifelong area resident, Barbara worked for Beech-Nut for over 30 years in various capacities; retiring in 2000 as a glass inspector. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was predeceased by her brothers, Jerry, Robert and Joseph Benton. Her family includes her children, Jimmy Benton of Little Falls, NY and Sherry Blair and her husband Patrick of Canajoharie, NY; 6 grandchildren, Kamala, Kevin and Kierra Benton, James, P.J. and Jacqueline Blair; two great grandchildren; one brother, LeRoy Benton, Jr. of Canajoharie, NY; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Friday, October 21, 2011 from 4 until 7p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services for the family will be private. Interment will take place at a later date in the Fort Plain Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Staff of the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
