Barbara Jean Bergeron
March 29th, 1929 - April 30th, 2023
Palmer-Barbara Jean (Newman) Bergeron, affectionately known as Jean, 94, passed away April 30, 2023. Born in Memphis, TN on March 29, 1929, she was the daughter of Robert T. and Edna L. (Crutcher) Newman. Jean grew up in Tennessee and Chicago and has lived in Palmer for 23 years. She was a title searcher for many years at Day, Berry & Howard in Hartford. One of Jeans side passions was designing houses and she brought one of her designs to life in a home built for her growing family in Granby, CT. Jean had a green thumb and enjoyed her time gardening as well as preparing delicious food for her family. Jean’s greatest pleasure was time with her family. During the last years of her life she enjoyed her cat Oreo. It was so important for her to get everyone together. She is survived by six children, Dennis (Pamela) of St Petersburg, FL, Donald (Jessie) of Niantic, CT, Stephen (Sandra) of Westbrook, CT, Joanne Bergeron, Marie Bergeron and Carol Miller all of Palmer and Brother-in-law, Denver Hensley. Her memory will also remain with her grandchildren: Amy, Rebecca, Katherine, Megan, Thomas, Kathryn, Kenneth, Jean Marie, Bobbi Jean and Joanna along with great grandchildren: Nathaniel, Abigail, Skyler, Madeleine, Lillian, Marion, Eloise, Julian, James, Vivian, Joshua, Hailey, Presley, Michael, and Brooklyn. Besides her husband, Leonard, Jean was predeceased by two sons, Philip and Kenneth, a sister, Jackie, and a grandson, Ryan. A celebration of life will take place privately for the family at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Shriner's Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
