Barbara Rose Crowder Black, 98, of Roswell, NM, Long Beach, CA, Sacramento, CA, and born February 11, 1922, in Iowa, departed this life on October 31, 2020, in Sacramento. She is preceded in death by her husband, Estel Eugene Black, her son, Estel Eugene "Gene" Black, Jr., her parents, John and Elsie May Crowder, as well as her six siblings: John (Zita) Crowder, Hope Mary (Charles) Cookson, Lois Elsie (Floyd) Doyal, Rachel Genevieve (Reuben) Stroh, Daniel Miles Crowder, and Martha Joan (J.C.) Henry. A first grade teacher, Barbara taught thousands of students how to read in her 30-year career. She leaves behind to cherish her memory: numerous nieces and nephews, her Sophia group at Westminster Church, and countless friends and honorary family members. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please be kind to one another.
