Barbara Gene Woods, 75, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 21, 2017, 1:00PM in the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be held from 11:00AM to 1:00PM just prior to the service. Burial will be held at a later date in the Andersonville National Cemetery to be coordinated by the family. The Reverend Andy Pickens will officiate. Mrs. Woods was born June 21, 1941 to the late Earl and Olzie Brumley in Hima, Kentucky. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, and sewing. Mrs. Woods was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all. She is preceded in death by her sister, Kaye Hamilton-Burroughs and brother, Bruce Brumley. Mrs. Woods is survived by her husband of 57 years, Clarence “Woody” Woods of Warner Robins; daughter, Shannon Woods Channell (Dale) of Kathleen; son, Doug Woods (Amy) of Powder Springs; four grandchildren, Ramey Channell, Hannah Channell Wells (Matt), Landon Woods (Katie) and Patrick Woods; three great grandsons, Logan Woods, Nolan Wells, and Luca Woods; a great granddaughter, due in April, Eva Jean Wells; a brother Don Brumley (Flo) of Kentucky; sister, Gayle Mautner of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Barbara’s memory to Heartland Hospice, 3312 Northside Dr. Suite D-250, Macon, GA, 31210.
