Barbara Jean Bunger

May 21st, 1943 - March 11th, 2024

Barbara Jean Bunger, 80, of Loveland, CO, passed away 3/11/24.  She was born in Cleveland, Ohio 5/21/1943, the daughter of Ronald Earle and Imogene Chism.   As a young girl, she moved with her family to Colorado.  Barbara graduated from Aurora Central HS in 1961.  From there she went on to study at Colorado State University as well as getting her Cosmetology License from Aurora Beauty College in 1963, Cosmetology Instructor Training License in 1979, and Texas Teaching Certificate in 1989.

During a Christian singles trip to Cancun, Mexico in 1980, she met Timothy Paul Bunger who she married in 1984.

Barbara was a beautician for many years as well as teaching Cosmetology. She was an instructor at LaVonne’s School of Hair Design 1976 to 1981.  She then became a flight attendant for Frontier Airlines from 1981 to 1985. She resumed her teaching career at T.H. Pickens Technical Center as an instructor in the Cosmetology Department from 1985 to 1987.  Barbara and Tim had moved to Texas when she began working at Irving Independent School as an instructor in the Cosmetology Department in 1987.  She then became the office manager for Bishop Orthodontics in Bedford, TX.

Barbara was passionate about her work with the Mid Cities Pregnancy Center in Euless, TX.  As a volunteer there, she was an advocate and counselor.  She encouraged women who came to the Center by sharing the Gospel and giving them sonogram cards she had made for them.

Barbara and Tim were members of Faith Church in Loveland, CO.  Barbara enjoyed skiing, traveling, snorkeling, as well as crafting.

Surviving are her sons Marty Lamb and Dan Lamb, daughter-in-law Jerri Ann Lamb,  brother Chuck Chism, sister Sue Brungardt, sister Sally Talbott, brother-in-law Leroy Brungardt, brother-in-law Dave Talbott, 3 grandchildren (Luke, Ty, and Lyla), 6 nieces, 2 nephews, 10 grand nieces, and 12 grand nephews.

Barbara wanted to thank all of her good friends who were an encouragement to her, came to visit, called, texted, and showered her with love.

A memorial service for Barbara will be held at a later date at Faith Church in Loveland with a reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.

How did you meet Barbara?

We meant walking our doggies around the neighborhood. Always with a bright smile , hello, how are you. Came to my back fence and greeted me with a cheerful greeting . Miss you my friend .
