Barbara Anne Chapman

Barbara Anne Chapman (67) of Silver Spring, MD, passed away peacefully on July 11. She was the beloved wife of Tet Miyabara, mother of Jillian, and their best friend. She was preceded by her parents George and Mildred Chapman and a sister Carole. Raised in Linton, ND, Barbara received her Masters Degree from the University of Utah and PhD from the University of Hawaii. She conducted research for 5 years in Indonesia on health issues and published a book on her findings. She worked for 30 years as an analyst for the Government Accountability Office. Barbara was spirited and full of life; she loved family and friends and enjoyed working on her flowers and plants in the yard. She will be missed. Graveside service at Norbeck Memorial Park at 1 pm. Friday, July 18. In lieu of flowers--donations to the American Cancer Society.
