Barbara Olivia Denham
October 18th, 1947 - June 4th, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Olivia Denham on June 4, 2024 at age 76. She was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Barbara was born on October 18, 1947 in Washington, D.C. to Robert Tilden and Frances Olivia Huntington. Following her education, she spent the majority of her professional career working for the U.S. Supreme Court. She shares two daughters, Trish Denham Frye and Deborah Denham Paini, with her devoted husband of nearly 55 years, Lewis Jack Denham, Jr. There was nothing more important to Barbara than the health and happiness of her family. She leaves behind her husband, daughters, sons-in-law, Scott Frye and William Paini, and four grandchildren, Emma Elizabeth, Audrey Olivia, Caroline Paige and Henry William, whom she loved so dearly.
She lived for annual family trips to the beach, where she and Jack treasured time together under one roof with their entire family. Her grandchildren absolutely adored this time with their beloved “Maw-Maw”. Her memory lives on in them.
Barbara and Jack raised their daughters and shared a beautiful life in Maryland until retiring to warmer weather in Port Charlotte, Florida. The outpouring of love and support from the Port Charlotte community is testament to the impact she made here. Barbara’s kindness, compassion, generosity and sweet humor will be fondly remembered by the family and friends whose lives she touched so deeply.
Barbara is predeceased by her parents and sister, Mary Anne Huntington.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society, in honor of Barbara’s memory are welcome.
