Barbara J. Ferguson
November 19th, 1934 - April 29th, 2014
Ferguson, Barbara J., (Mattingly), 79 went to her eternal home on April 29, 2014. She was born a coal miner's daughter and was raised in Vincennes, Indiana. After high school graduation, she met Chester Ferguson and they entered in a blessed marriage of 62 years. Barbara and her children accompanied Chet through numerous relocations throughout his 38 year career with Chrysler Corporation. Barbara was a graduate of Bowling Green State University and worked as an executive secretary and benefits administrator. She was a devout Christian and active in all the churches that the family attended through the years. She was an accomplished cook and enjoyed gardening. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed reading to her grandchildren the most as they were growing up. While living in Sun City Center, she served as the Secretary of the Beautification Association, was a member and past chair of the two Women's Club Membership and Scholarship Committees. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Ann Ferguson. She leaved behind her husband, Chet, her daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Joe Baker, two grandchildren, Emily and Joseph Baker all of Avon Lake, Ohio and her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Mildred Mattingly of Pueblo, Colorado. Final services for the family will be held in Huron, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Life Path Hospice. The family is grateful to the Life Path Hospice for their outstanding care and to Rev. Ken Addition for his spiritual comfort and assurance.
