Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Tumwater
Barbara Jean Freeman
February 9th, 1932 - October 29th, 2013
Barbara Jean Freeman Barbara, 81, passed away peacefully at the Panorama Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center in Lacey, Washington on October 29, 2013. She was born on February 9, 1932 in Rainer, Washington to Lawrence and Francis Stuiber. In Barbara’s younger years, she worked as a telephone operator, seamstress in a coat factory, and, in 1982, she retired from State of Washington Department of Licensing. She volunteered at the “Barn” at Panorama and loved every minute of it. She was an avid golfer, and loved nature, kittens, puppies, rose gardens, and to travel. She also enjoyed dancing, sewing and quilting. Barbara was many things to many people—a daughter, a twin, a sister, a wife, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a loving and caring friend, and confidante. She is survived by her son, Mark; granddaughter, Kara; grandson, Marty; twin sister, Beverly Green; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and many close friends who meant much to her. She was predeceased by her husband, Edgar (Bill) in 1993. It’s hard in this moment of sadness and loss to remember to be grateful for the treasured memories we have of her and to be grateful for all the time we shared together. She will be eternally in our hearts and remembered always. A simple service celebrating Barbara’s life will be conducted by dear friend Rev. Don Plank on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. at the Chambers House Restaurant, in the Garden Room, 1751 Circle Lane SE, Lacey. Reception to follow. Barbara’s remains will be inurned with her husband at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Panorama Benevolent Fund at 1751 Circle Lane SE, Lacey, WA 98503. Please leave memories of Barbara or condolences for her family in the Guestbook below.
