Barbara J. Heiman
October 12th, 1950 - January 12th, 2024
Barbara Saint was born 10/12/1950 in Beloit, KS. She finished her Bachelors degree at Kansas State in mathematics in 1972 and was married to Roger Heiman that same year. They journeyed to Australia for 3 years where Barbara taught high school math. Once they returned to the States, Barbara finished her Masters in 1978 and PhD in 1981 both in mathematics at Kansas State then taught at College of Wooster in Ohio. Her first son, Karl, was born in 1984 then she made it to Hughes in California at Redondo Beach. She gave birth to Gary in 1986 and Karen in 1988. She accepted a transfer to Tucson and continued working with Raytheon until she retired. She was a lifelong quilter and mystery lover as well as occasional piano player and wanted to be known for her wit and achievements. She was diagnosed with ALS in 2019, but that didn't stop her from doing her Alaskan roadtrip in the RV or quilting until this last year. She was overjoyed to become a grandmother to Gary Andrew Heiman.
