Barbara Heller 85 of Atlanta; loving mother of Carrie & Andy (Stephany) Heller;cherished grandmother of Lily Rose & Jacob and widow of the late Dr. E. Maurice Heller passed away Thursday, February 19, 2009 in Atlanta. A native of Toronto Ontario, Barbara came to St. Petersburg in 1973 and resided with her family in Treasure Island. Active in many civic causes, Barbara formerly served as Vice Chairman of the St. Petersburg Coliseum. She was responsible for the Heimlich Maneuver bill that passed in the FL legislature in 1983. Barbara was also an avid fundraiser for the Technion Society in Israel. Prior to marrying, she was an actress and model in New York City. Barbara was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel and its Sisterhood, Hadassah & the Pinellas County Medical Society Women's Auxiliary. Funeral services will be 11AM Sunday, February 22, 2009 at David C. Gross Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park, Largo.
