Barbara Lynn (Smith) Keen Barbara Lynn (Smith) Keen, 55 passed away Wednesday, November 26, 2008, at her home in Higley, Arizona. She was a loving wife and mother. Barbara was born February 5, 1953, to Ernest and Betty (Thompson) Smith, of Brazil, Indiana. On June 22, 1981, she married John D. Keen Jr, in Terre Haute, Indiana. Barbara was a graduate of Indiana State University and Staunton High School. She recently completed her Master"s Degree in Education. She was also a life long member of First Assembly of God in Mesa, AZ. In 1984, she began her teaching career with Mesa Public Schools and remained there as a dedicated educator until her recent retirement. Barbara will be remembered for her dedication to God, family and the educational system. She was preceded in death by her mother Betty (Thompson) Smith. She is survived by her husband John D. Keen Jr., Gilbert, AZ, daughter and daughter-in-law Autumn and Rose Sol, Brooklyn, NY, father Ernest C. Smith, brothers Michael (Richlyn) Smith and Kenneth (Diane) Smith, nieces and nephews Christopher, Kelsey, Cobin (Ashley), Abbey and great nephew Caleb Smith. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM, Friday, November 28, 2008 at Falconer Funeral Home, 251 West Juniper Avenue, Gilbert, AZ. Funeral services held at Mesa First Assembly of God, 1303 S. Lindsay Rd., Mesa, AZ, 10 AM Saturday, November 29, 2008, with Pastor Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. The family suggests that those so desiring may make contributions to First Assembly of God in Mesa, AZ.
