Barbara Christine Tunzat Knoblauch of Canby died Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the age of 71. She was born May 15, 1939, in Portland to John and Esther Tunzat. She grew up in Portland and graduated from Washington High School in 1957. In 1965, she moved to Canby where she and her husband ran the Mangus Variety Store until 1999. Their hobby of collecting antiques grew into a new business as they worked in shops in Aurora, Lincoln City, and Wheeler. She was active in various Masonic organizations, including Job’s Daughters and the Order of Eastern Star. She was a lifetime member of the Order of Eastern Star in Canby and a guardian and past honored queen of Portland Bethel 3. She also enjoyed helping youth. She also enjoyed animals and rescued several dogs through the years. Survivors include her husband, Matt; son, Matthew “Chris”; daughter Bettie Ray Cuccia; two sisters, and nine grandchildren. A service will be held Saturday, February 19, at 1 a.m. at Canby Funeral Chapel. Viewing hours will be from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oregon Humane society or Oregon Dachshund Rescue. Arrangements entrusted to Canby Funeral Chapel. Family is encouraged to provide an obituary or information that allows for an obituary to be written by our staff
