Barbara Lou Ellen Princell - McCluskey Pinotti - Howman (87), of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on Friday, October 15, 2021. Barbara was born December 13, 1933. Raised in Minneapolis Minnesota, she attended the University of Minnesota, where she received a Bachelor of Science is Elementary Education. She was a proud member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and continued her affiliation throughout her life. As many know, Barbara walked through her life with a zest for love and laughter like no other. She lost three loving companions in her life: Bill McCluskey, Bill Pinotti and Gary Howman. Each of them touched her greatly and she loved each, not one more than another. They lead her through life, challenged her, took care of her, and loved her. In her professional career, she taught elementary school and at age 55 she opened Barbaras Womens Apparel a womens clothing store with Bill Pinotti, in Naples, FL. After closing the store and moving to Charlotte, NC she continued her love for people and selling clothing by working at Coldwater Creek. Her everyday life was occupied by her love for her church by attending Bible Study, Knitting Ministry and helping to teach Sunday School weekly. She also loved playing bridge with her close friends and attending Levine Senior Center. Later in her life, Barbara learned of her direct affiliation to the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), founded by her Great Grandfather John G. Princell. The EFCA began in the Scandinavian countries of Sweden, Norway and Denmark. She was so proud of her Swedish heritage and this opened the door to her faith in the lord. She attended the New City Church (formerly the Church at Charlotte). She flourished there with her dedication to her faith, spiritual growth, and church family. It truly was life changing for her. A Celebration of her life will be held at a later date to be determined at New City Church, 2500 Carmel Road, Charlotte, NC 28226. In lieu of flowers, because of her love for her Church and Childrens Ministry, please direct memorial donations to: New City Church NextGen Ministry (Childrens Ministry) - By Check: Payable to New City Church.
