Barbara Jean Smith Barbara was born in Tucson Arizona and moved to San Diego when she was nine years old and lived there most of her life until she found her way home. She survived by her two sons, Michael Leday, and Jamar Pool. She also had three grandchildren Maya Leday, Nicholas Leday and Hakieem Pool. She was married to Big James Gooding and loved him with all her heart. She wore many hats but was known for her lifetime of caregiving. She had a heart of gold which is why she chose that path. She graduated Lincoln high school located in Southeast San Diego, her stomping grounds. She love to play softball, but was a legend on the track field. Barbara was more than just a mother she was a friend, sister, cousin, mentor and, in a lot of cases in forcer, but most of all she was my queen. I love you mom I’m going to keep your dream alive DREAMER. Memorial date 5/28/2022 Read Park Rose Garden 10:30 AM Barbara Jean function right after service, and you know how she got down. Special acknowledgment Mesha Johnson, her lifetime best friend and sister. Her daughter Breanna Gooding, and a special thanks to her uncle Herbie Coleman thanks Uncle she loved you till the end.
