Barbara Ann Martin Spencer, 81, passed away September 10, 2014, of natural causes. Barbara was born April 8, 1933, to Lorenzo and Ruby Martin. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, attending schools in the South Salt Lake area. Barbara married her sweetheart, Eldon James Spencer, on November 30, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. Eldon passed away on December 4, 2006. Barbara faithfully served in many callings and organizations, but some of her favorite callings included serving as Relief Society President, teaching Primary and serving in the Boise, Idaho Temple. Barbara shared her artistic talents through her many years as a floral designer and then as manager of the Flower Patch in Bountiful, Utah. Her greatest joy in life, however, was Eldon and her family. She was an exemplary grandparent, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have limitless memories of time spent with Grandpa and Grandma Barbie. Barbara is survived by her children James (Martha), Lorenzo, Ron (Maureen), Alan (Wendy), Jay (Kathy), and Annette Moore (Michael), and 27 grandchildren and 80 great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by her husband Eldon, son David, brother Howard and sister Marlene. A viewing will be held 7:00 p.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the LDS Chapel at 1450 W. Cayuse Creek Dr. Meridian, Idaho (across from Rocky Mountain High School). Funeral services will be held Monday, September 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., at the same location, with a viewing prior from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the Idaho Home Health and Hospice. We especially wish to thank Amy, Tiffany, Crystal, and Gina for their excellent and wonderful care of our mother.
