Tedesko, Barbara Jane March 31, 1954 – September 19, 2023, passed away after she lost her battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Barbara was born in Denver, Colorado in 1954, to Leroy and Charlotte Lachman. She grew up in the Cheeseman Park neighborhood and enjoyed the summer musicals in the park with her family. She was a graduate of Denver East High School, class of 1972, and Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon, class of 1976, with a degree in accounting. She obtained her CPA certification and worked for several independent accounting firms, including her own tax business servicing friends and family for many years. Her final professional position was with The City and County of Denver, responsible for managing the creation of the "Comprehensive Annual Financial Report" (CAFR), a position that occupied a large portion of her year at "The City", until her retirement. She was a board member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and contributed to their publications over the years. Barbara met the love of her life, William, in 1979. They both attended East High School, graduating together, but never met until crossing paths later in life, marrying in 1982. They were excited to start their new lives together, and their children meant the world to them. Barbara was a natural mother, who created a wonderful childhood full of memories for her children. She traveled with her husband extensively, throughout the United States and abroad, enjoying museums and cultural attractions. She was an avid skier when she was younger and picked it up again in retirement, often going with her brother Don, his wife Donna, her children Gina and Bill Jr., and Don and Donna's children Ben and Chris. She enjoyed going "up the hill" to gamble in Black Hawk and Central City, playing slot machines, while continuing her lifelong love of hiking, camping, and picnicking in the beautiful Colorado outdoors. She was a doting grandmother, who enjoyed playing at the park and going to the library picking out handfuls of books to read with her grandson. Barbara will always be remembered for her positive outlook on life. She always lit up the room with her smile and warm presence. Barbara is survived by her Husband of 41 years William; her Daughter Gina Thomas (Jason); her son William Tedesko Jr.; Brother David Lachman; Brother Don (Donna) Lachman; Stepfather Don Nusbaum; Grandson Halston Thomas; and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her Mother Charlotte Nusbaum; Father Leroy Lachman; Brother James Lachman and Nephew Chris Lachman. The family intends to hold a "Celebration of Life" gathering for Barbara at a currently undecided point in the future. If you are interested in attending, please monitor this site and other social channels for information. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The American Cancer Society.
