Barbara Waldron

Barbara Waldron, age 82 passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021 at West Marion Community Hospital in Ocala, FL. She was born on December 23, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York by Teresa and Irving Singer, the second of two daughters. She graduated from Bay Ridge High School. She married John David Waldron on January 24, 1959. In 1964 they moved from Brooklyn, NY to Selden, NY, a town on Long Island. There they raised 5 children: Debra, John, Karen, Barbara, and Cheryl. Barbara enjoyed gardening and became a Master Gardener and herbologist. She loved the company of her two lifelong companion Boston Terriers “Gumbo” and “Max”. She enjoyed family “escapes” to the beautiful White Mountains of New Hampshire where they had a vacation home. When her husband retired in 1996 they moved to their vacation home permanently in North Haverhill, NH. After several years of harsh winters, the weather brought them to sunny Ocala, Florida. She loved living in Florida, but also enjoyed traveling with frequent trips to Branson, Pigeon Forge, and Caribbean cruises. She is survived by her husband John in 62 years of marriage, sister Rita (and Nicholas) of Brooklyn, NY. Children: Debra of Mesa, AZ, John (and Debbie) of Ephrata, PA, Karen of Maricopa, AZ, Barbara (and Scott) of Gilbert, AZ, Cheryl (and Dan) of Sammamish, WA, and grandchildren Alicia, Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Samantha, Nicole, and Danielle. Visitation will be 2-4pm on Sunday, May 30th at Hiers-Baxley Timberridge Chapel, 9695 SW 110th St. Ocala, FL. (352)-873-4114. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 8:30am on Tuesday, June 1st at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Highland Memorial Park in Ocala.
