Beatrice Benavides

Beatrice M. Benavides passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 11th. She was a long time Berkshire County resident. Beatrice was born on June 16th, 1938 in Bloomfield, Ct. She was the daughter of the late Beatrice and her husband Charles Kearney predeceased Emanuel Benavides.She and brother John Benavides. Her daughter, Zia Anderson who resides in Colorado, leaves two sons, John Anderson who resides in Pittsfield, and David Anderson who resides in Florida, survives her. Beloved grandchildren Shaun Anderson, Ryan Anderson, Lindsey Outzen, Jessica Byers Anderson, Great grandchild Tyler Anderson. Daughters in-laws, Paula Anderson, Gaelynn Anderson. “Bea” worked at Berkshire Mental Health, and then had her own psychotherapy practice in Pittsfield.Bea showed a lot of compassion with her clients and touched many lives far beyond being a therapist. She enjoyed many hobbies including the book club, theater, cooking, music, movies, and most of all painting. She was in several art shows and we all have enjoyed her paintings talents. Bea also was a dog and cat lover. She touched many lives with her spirit, compassion, and zest for life. She always wanted everyone to live in the moment and enjoy each day. All will miss her. “Mom was one in a million. She not only showed love, she had the natural ability to change lives. That in itself is a gift. She made her mark on many. When you talk about lighting up a room that was my mom.” Bea was a deeply spiritual woman. She taught us kids about God, living a life of devotion, care, and love for all.
