Beatrice M. Patterson

WEST COLUMBIA, SC – Beatrice M. Patterson, 99, formerly of Muncie, Indiana, passed away on April 6, 2023 in West Columbia, SC. She was born on December 9, 1923 in Richmond, Indiana, the daughter of Cecil Clarence and Lulu Frances (Ruby) Butler. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. On May 4, 1946 in Richmond, Indiana, she married Jonathan I. Patterson, Jr. She worked for Dr. Kim (Richmond), Gayee Sales, Mechanical Contractors and Ball Stores in Muncie, Indiana and was a member of Muncie First Baptist Church. She enjoyed her grandchildren, football, reading, sewing, word puzzles and the games shows. Surviving are a daughter, Nancy Hines (Chris) of West Columbia, SC; son-in-law, Jerry Hamilton; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Hines (Lacey), Christian Hines (Sharymarie), Alex Hines (Meredith), Hannah Peckham (Andrew), Josiah Hines (Heather), Sarah Hines and Gabriel Hines; fifteen great-grandchildren, Dominic Behr, Gabrielle Bair, Emalee Anderson, Landon Anderson, Morgan Anderson, Ruby Grace Hines, Naaman Hines, Levi Hines, Audrey Hines, Dottie Mae Hines, Emma Caroline Peckham, Annabelle Hines, Elaine Peckham, Ali Faith Hines and Brantley Hines; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 58 years, Jonathan I. Patterson, Jr. on December 11, 2005; her beloved daughter, Beatrice “Elaine” (Patterson) Hamilton; two brothers, Byron Butler and Kenneth Butler (Peggy); and three sisters, Blythe Butler, Mary Muckridge and Barbara Johnson (Robert). There will be a Celebration Service at Harvest Church, 4865 Sunset Blvd., Lexington, SC on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call on the family before the service at 10:00 a.m. There will be a Graveside Celebration of her life at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City, IN on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 11:00am.
