Becky Jean Brown

Becky Jean Brown, 57, of Portland, died peacefully at home on July 17, 2011 with her family by her side. Becky’s courageous battle with cancer ended far too soon and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Becky was born June 19, 1954 in Portland, Oregon to Dorothy Jean and Colin Wright Ackerson. She was an exceptional mother of three children and a loving wife to her husband of 37 years. Becky taught piano lessons after graduating from Marylhurst College in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. She was an avid lover of music, adored her students, and cherished her piano teacher friends. Becky is survived by her husband, Stuart Brown; son & daughter-in-law, Cameron and Noel Brown; daughter, Lauren Brown; son, Peter Brown; sister, ErrolLynne & William Marsh; brother, Colin & Judith Ackerson; brother, Jeffrey & Darlene Ackerson; brother, Mark & Rita Ackerson; sister, Rollee and Michael Jones; sister-in-law, Denise Merrifield; in-laws, Melinda Brown and Wayne Kindsvogel; in-laws, Marley and Kathleen Brown; and beloved friend, Sara Lindgren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Becky is preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Doris Ackerson; and brother, David Merrifield.
